SUMMARY

The Esthetician administers professional facials, waxing services and an array of body treatments to our clients.  They must possess a thorough knowledge of the skin, have excellent facial massage and skin extraction techniques, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing learn spa specific facial treatment offerings.  They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our clients.  They must hold and maintain a current state license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS         

            

1. Performs skin care treatments and touch therapies, which includes light massage.
2. Assess any skin problems or conditions, and suggests appropriate therapy based on current health of client.
3. Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures.
4. Recommends retail products for clients' at-home usage.
5. Ensure clients feel welcome when they arrive for their appointments
6. Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness
7. Stock and maintain treatments rooms according to standard operating procedures
8. Promote and up-sell products and services
9. Ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the spa
10. Assists Spa in activities such as staff meetings, promotions, housekeeping duties
11. Assists with washing and folding of all linens used in treatment rooms
12. Arrives fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled work time
13. Maintains and increases knowledge of product line, and skin /body treatments by attending new product and skin care promotions, in house instruction, and education/training classes
14. Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Maintain appropriate certification and licensure
2. Possess excellent communication skills
3. Be proficient in various skin care treatment techniques and modalities
4. Have the ability to provide legible communication
5. Have knowledge of physiology
6. Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Most tasks are performed indoors.  Temperature is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
2. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
3. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. 
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
