Position Summary:
The esthetician performs non-invasive esthetic procedures in a medical setting, and administers laser treatments and medical-grade peels under the delegated authority of the esthetic center’s medical director. With a focus on providing a world class patient experience, the esthetician will provide skin care treatment and recommendations to our patients.
Responsibilities:
Provide the following services:
Skin Care Services
- Application of skin care products
- Chemical Peels
- Micro-dermabrasion
- Laser treatments, including resurfacing, depigmentation, and hair removal
- Therapeutic & Pampering Facials
Working Conditions:
- An esthetician may use medical devices and cosmeceuticals to produce results that are superior to the services a day spa is able to provide.
- A medical esthetician may be exposed to harsh chemicals and lasers; precautions must be taken and proper equipment must be used / worn to protect from the risk of injury.
Experience/Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Completion of an approved cosmetology program
- Current Colorado Esthetics license
- Minimum of 5 years in a medical esthetic environment
- Must be reliable, work well with others in a fast paced environment, and have good manual dexterity
- Must have strong communication skills, a professional appearance and a positive attitude
- Strong knowledge base of key skin care ingredients coupled with familiarity with medical skin care lines
- Proven track record of retailing skin care products
- The following certifications:
- Chemical Peels
- Microdermabrasion (preferred)
- Laser training and certification
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to work in an office environment at both his/her own and others’ desks/offices
- Required daily to walk the floor, sometimes for extended periods and be able to help wherever needed
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to bend, stretch, twist and/or reach with your body, arms and/or legs
- Must possess good multi-limb coordination – i.e. the ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting or standing
- Must possess good trunk strength – i.e. the ability to use abdominal or lower back muscles to support part of the body continuously or repeatedly over time without “giving out” or fatiguing
- Able to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information
