Regional Educator

Position Summary :
The Regional Educator is responsible to work closely with the Account Executive in given region with staff training, workshops, events, seminars and webinars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Conduct educational presentations through a variety of forums such as webinars, trade shows, key industry functions, special events and with key retail partners
  • Coordination, communication and training of all qualified spa partners in your region
  • Manage the trade “Help-Desk” for your region
  • Manage the COSMEDIX Professional Network (Private Facebook group)
  • Conduct new hire training courses for freelance staff in your region
  • Conduct on-going training initiatives for both the field sales and education teams, as well as the professional esthetic community and end consumer
  • Support current educational curriculum and training materials
  • Support professional programs and protocols to drive product sales in both back bar and retail
  • Other responsibilities as required and as the position evolves
Competencies: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Training: 
  • Educate accounts on the brand ingredients, treatment protocols and application. The ability to demonstrate facial treatments, to enhance the attendees experience and increase sales.
  • Recognize over stocked items and educate the account on how to apply and sell them.
  • Use creativity in demonstration and product knowledge to engage the student.
  • Review the accounts service menu and provide recommended training protocol, pre and post treatment /services.
  • Account interaction with their staff and their consumers answering questions and recommending homecare products and service treatments.
  • Teach Cosmedix seminars, webinars and lunch-n-learns according to the developed curriculum and assist the students during the hand-on session.
Events: 
  • Support planned consumer events at the account location in lieu of or alongside the Account Executive. These events will be planned according to the accounts needs through the AE and can include speaking engagements, consumer seminars, open house events, etc.
Inventory: 
  • Work alongside the Account Executive and Partner in understanding and reviewing inventory for Top Sellers, making recommendation for sell through of overstock, slow sellers or no longer featured products.
  • Stay abreast of current merchandising, collateral and marketing materials that will enhance the retail environment and communicate this information effectively to the account AE.
Tradeshow: 
  • When requested to participate in tradeshows, the duties include setup and breakdown of the booth, interacting with attendees to discuss the brand and provide treatment demonstrations.
Reporting: 
  • Provides regular, timely and meaningful market feedback and standard reporting to the assigned Global Education Director, regarding classes, workshops, trainings and events.
  • Works within budgeted expenses (e.g., travel, meals, etc.) and submits expense reports in a timely manner using Concur expense reporting system.

Education and/or Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
  • Certified/licensed esthetician or cosmetologist required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in spa and skincare treatments
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in skincare education
Skills and Knowledge Requirements: 
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong oral presentation skills, must be able to engage staff and consumers
  • Ability to interact professionally with retail staff, spa owners, managers, and spa/salon staff, as well as doctors, nurses and medical office staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire
  • Self-starter that exercises flexibility and adaptability in response to change and opportunity.
  • Proven track record of education development with a comprehensive knowledge of cosmetic chemistry
  • Strong sense of the competitive landscape
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Internet, Skype, Webinars i.e. Webex / GoToMeeting/ GoTo Webinar)
  • Knowledge of interactive training programs and tools
  • Ability to travel throughout the geographic region as necessary; including international travel as required, position requires up to 75% travel including overnights and weekends.
