JOB SUMMARY
The mission for the ASCP Director of Education position is to provide leadership to create educational materials that drive school, student, and professional membership sales, and to encourage membership retention. The position oversees scheduling and development of content for live workshops, webinars, online education courses, newsletters, education resources, and conferences. The Director of Education is responsible for participating in the department’s skin care school visitation program. He or she aims to build relationships with industry leaders to enhance and expand educational offerings and form partnerships useful to members. In addition, the Director of Education position works with other departments to establish strategic initiatives that help meet organizational goals.
TASKS AND OUTCOMES
  • Meet expectations for the contribution of education initiatives to ASCP membership growth in all categories.
  • In coordination with the Senior Director, who has overall responsibility for school outreach, develop the educational content portion for school relations, including resources for students, instructors, and school administrators, school visits, and a school conference.
  • Develop content or oversee the development of content for student, instructor, and school materials. Projects may include transitioning Skin Pro to Skin Core, and adapting ABMP Student Life to ASCP Student Life.
  • Following direction from the Senior Director regarding school assignments and specific visitation goals, contact schools and organize 6 school visits quarterly, with quantifiable outcomes and clear plans for follow-up procedures.
  • Manage production of an annual live conference for schools by developing content, acquiring presenters, planning logistics, and hosting the live event. Duties include coordination of marketing and follow up.
  • Ensure the school, instructor, and student content on the ASCP website is relevant, professional, engaging, and fresh.
  • Organize an annual plan for professional member education, including webinars, online events, newsletters, blogs, presentations, and others as determined.
  • Manage production of webinars by acquiring presenters, forming agreements, coordinating video acquisition, supervising video editing, posting content to the website, and coordinating launch. Annually assess the webinar library and prune outdated or lower-quality materials.
  • Manage production of an annual online conference by acquiring presenters, forming agreements, coordinating video acquisition, supervising video editing, working with IT on platform specifications, marketing, hosting the live event, and follow up.
  • Develop content or oversee the development of content for professional member blogs, ebooks, newsletters, presentations, and other materials as determined.
  • Ensure professional education content on the ASCP website is relevant, professional, engaging, and fresh.
  • Through industry engagement, school outreach, research, and an attitude of curiosity, become ASCP’s expert on both existing and emerging esthetics procedures. Use that expertise to screen all proposed ASCP published content, including Skin Deep articles, and produce fact sheets on particular modalities and procedures as needed.
  • Develop project plans and manage projects by working effectively with other departments to provide relevant and engaging content of a quality that ensures all ASCP members view education offerings as important member benefits.
  • Deliver quarterly reports on progress toward goals.
  • Represent ASCP at selected trade shows and events as determined.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
All relevant education, training, and work experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Content expertise in the area of professional skin care, skin care technologies, and skin care education
  • License in esthetics and training in advanced skin care modalities
  • Strong research skills
  • Exceptional oral communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • A background in skin care education, including strong instructional design skills and the ability to produce educational ebooks, lesson plans, learning objectives, webinars, courses, sessions for conferences, newsletters, and presentations
  • Exceptional teaching skills and the ability to deliver a strong lesson via face-to-face instruction or online instruction
  • Strong project organization and project management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to make progress toward goals
  • Strong customer service skills, professional attitude, and strong work ethic
  • Recognition in the skin care industry and skin care industry contacts a bonus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related area
  • Esthetics school or skin care product educator experience preferred
  • License in esthetics or 5–7 years’ experience in the skin care industry
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
JOB CONDITIONS
Office environment. This is a full-time position. Travel required.

GROUP INSURANCE
The first of the month following 60 days of employment, full-time and part-time employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible to participate in group medical, dental, life, and disability insurance programs. Current health plan offered are a high deductible plan and a PPO plan.
401K
PAC provides a 401(k) Plan for employees. All employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan with their first PAC payroll. You will automatically be enrolled in the 401(k) Plan, meaning 4% of your earnings will be deducted from each paycheck unless you make an affirmative election to opt out of participation or to have a different percentage deducted from each paycheck.
PAC provides a 50% matching contribution to the PAC 401(k) plan each pay period, up to the first 6% of an eligible employee’s contribution percentage. This match commences upon an employee’s entry into the plan and the employer match is subject to a four year vesting schedule.
BEAUTY & WELLNESS PROGRAM
PAC will reimburse all employees, excluding temporary employees, up to $300 per calendar year for beauty and wellness expenditures. This can include massage therapy, bodywork, esthetics, hair services, nail services, yoga instruction, acupuncture, gym memberships, and chiropractic.
PAID TIME OFF
Paid Time Off (PTO) is an all-purpose leave plan for full-time and part-time employees to use for vacation, illness or injury, and personal business. It combines traditional vacation and sick leave plans into one flexible, paid time off program.
