Job Summary: The University of Colorado Denver | Department of Dermatology is seeking applications for a Cosmetic/Medical Aesthetician. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position will be located at the new Dermatology practice in Boulder, Colorado. This position will work closely with the Clinic Medical Director on patient skin treatments, primarily, but not limited to facial health. In addition, this Cosmetic/Medical Aesthetician will provide information to patients on the appropriateness of which services and/or products they need, as well as outline any contraindications a patient may have based on their skin or past reactions. In addition, this role must have a broad knowledge of the prescription and non-prescription product sold at the practice.
Examples of Work Performed:
• Performs facials at various grades in order to meet the needs of each patients’ skin.
• Performs chemical peels including: PCA peels, VI peel, Mini Melanage peel, etc.
• Performs microdermabrasions.
• Performs laser treatments.
• Performs hydrafacial treatments.
• Provides waxing.
• Provides brow and lash tinting.
• Provides skincare and product education (i.e. Obagi, SkinMedica, Elta,MD, PCA, Vivier, Clarisonic, Neova etc.).
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Possess a current and valid State of Colorado Esthetician License.
• One (1) year of experience working as a cosmetic and/or medical aesthetician.
Conditions of Employment: Must be willing and able to:
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
- Sit and stand for long periods of time, frequently walk, and bend/stoop, as well as execute repetitive motions.
- Wear safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, lab coat, etc.
- Work with complex laboratory equipment, sharps, and various chemical and biological solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) or more years of hands-on training as a cosmetic/medical aesthetician.
• Experience educating patients on the appropriateness of which service and/or products they need, as well as outlining any contraindications a patient may have based on their skin or past reactions.
