Lead Esthetician needed for holistic spa (Pearl Street)
At the Dragontree our ultimate intention is to seed our community with centered, peaceful and healthy people. In all actions we want to come from a place of welcoming, with the intention of creating a space and an experience for our clients that facilitates healing.
We are currently looking for someone three to four days per week. If you are someone who enjoys meeting and working with a diverse client population, then this is an opportunity for you to contribute to a dynamic and unique therapeutic environment.
Job Description:
To consistently and professionally fulfill the requirements of an Esthetician in addition to supporting the Spa Director in the management of staff while adhering to our mission statement of "to seed our community with centered, peaceful, and healthy people" and aligning with our core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Commitment to Self Growth, and Selfless Service." Reports directly to the Spa Director.
Staff Management
Demonstrate leadership to Esthetician staff while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Direct staff to maintain a clean, inviting, healing, and friendly space for our clients' well-being
- Manage schedule changes for estheticians
- Resolve crisis situations with creative solutions
- Uphold and enforce all DT policies/procedures
- Perform/document disciplinary actions when necessary
- Establish systems and procedures to enhance work flow and/or efficiencies of EST division
- Train EST staff on job duties/responsibilities
- Develop ongoing training modules to enhance staff knowledge and facilitate retention
- Problem solve/implement changes to reach established monthly/quarterly/yearly retail goals
- Monitor and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly incentive program results
- Collaborate with Spa Director on staff evaluations
- Inspire staff daily
Technical duties and requirements
To consult with clients on skin care needs, while delivering consistent, friendly, pleasant, and professional services.
- Build a client base through referrals and utilization of available promotional materials
- Provide knowledgeable professional care product recommendations to clients
- Is proficient in skin care, waxing, and tinting techniques
- Is proficient in use of Esthetic equipment to perform required services
- Believe that the client is always right and act accordingly
- Provide individualized recommendations to clients concerning home skincare maintenance
- Works a minimum of 4 shifts (combination of on call/on shift)
- Knows features and benefits of all products sold in Spa
- Enhances technical knowledge through continued trainings/courses/education
- Ensures proper maintenance of esthetic equipment
General duties and responsibilities
- Uphold all sanitary protocols (clean table/tools immediately after each use)
- Maintain organized work space as well as back bar/supply areas
- Insure treatment room is clean and in proper order after each treatment
- Follow cleaning check list at end of every shift
- Assist in spa duties (laundry, cleaning, restocking) during down time
Additional
- Work with department leads on projects when required
- Maintain all records, logs, files associated with EST
- Attend Staff, Team, and Management meetings
- Produce monthly blog
Our ideal candidate would:
- Be proficient in all services including Brazilian wax, makeup application and body scrubs
- Minimum of two years experience, preferably in a spa or clinical setting
- Epicuren and Livia product knowledge preferred
- Proficient in use of equipment needed to perform in depth treatments
- Attend company sponsored training and/or meetings
-Uphold spa standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Maintain good working relationship with all management and spa team members
-Recommend professional care/services and quality retail products
-Minimum of two shifts required, with preference given to those with scheduling flexibility
-Consistently friendly, positive and professional with all clients and team members
-Desire and willingness to build a repeat client base through the use of referrals and by using promotional materials available
-Punctual and aware of timing for client sessions
